Dawn M. Armfield

Dawn M. Armfield, a technical writer/editor by trade, is an avid amateur photographer. She enjoys merging the literary with the visual by combining the words of the world's great writers with the photographs she takes. She most often combines the words of Thoreau, Emerson, and Muir with photographs of the United States desert southwest, where she currently resides.

She is very interested in portraying the world on her terms, not fitting in with the trends of the moment, and being true to her vision of the world. Her photographs are predominantly of the amazing landscapes surrounding her home (she is within a short distance of the Grand Canyon and several local national monuments and parks), but she also tries to show the world she travels in ways that are new and innovative.

Dawn has lived in more than 20 states and in Europe. In addition, she tries to travel to new places several times a year (and hopes, in the next year, to make it to Spain, Mexico, and other Spanish speaking countries). The camera has been her way of making the world around her more familiar and comfortable while trying to learn new cultures where she lives.
