Gayla Trail is a Toronto-based photographer, designer, gardener, creator of the acclaimed gardening web site YouGrowGirl.com and author of the popular gardening book, You Grow Girl: The Groundbreaking Guide to Gardening. Her work, both photographic and otherwise, has been featured in magazines, books, and newspapers across North America.
Gayla’s personal website Making Happy is both a heartfelt visual journal and an archive of her multi-faceted photographic practice. At its heart, her work is expressive and evocative of emotions tied to locations and the nuances of human presence. Many of the photos she creates serve as self-portraits – reflections of her filtered by a sense of shared history.
