Valerie Cochran
Valerie J. Cochran has been fascinated by the art of film photography since she was a young girl in rural Missouri. She briefly studied photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design in the early 1990's. Her work today explores the roles we all play in our daily worlds, including her own as a full-time waitress. Her photoblog YourWaitress.com is an ongoing conversation with random overlooked analog views from her home in Berkeley, California and beyond.
Participating in the Picture the Cure project is a way to help to help her deal with the several cases of breast cancer in her own family. "Too many women I know deal with this everyday. A project like this is very close to my heart. Hopefully one day we will find a cure, until then we must help each other any way we can."
