William Burns Smith
William Burns Smith, born 38 years ago in Montreal, re-located to Greater Toronto in 1980 part of the second migration. Bill has always been fascinated with Dad's Nikons and Leica. Photography did not become a passion until 1999 starting with disposible cameras, receiving a Canon Rebel XS for a birthday present a year later. That was the gateway to passion for black and white photography and later vintage camera gear and wet darkroom printing.
Bill has a fifteen year background in retailing, marketing and sales. He is currently training for a new career in public relations at Ryerson University and holds a degree in Political Science and History at University of Toronto, class of 1991.
Bill is participating in Picture the Cure as entrant and PR person because cancer in various forms touched his family over the years, most recently losing his dad two years ago.
